BearHaus is the big brother to Load Bear (you can see where we’re going with the bear theme!) our foundation and ground screw business which was started in 2021 by Steve and Alice. Its aim is to offer faster, greener and cleaner piled foundations at a fixed price.
They joined their sister company Cubly, a bespoke kitchen and furniture company and in doing so became a fully vertically integrated house builder.
Since launching Load Bear we have been busy perfecting our TimberSlab system, an eco-friendly foundation system which avoids concrete and the associated CO2 emissions. Our process has minimal disruptive digging or unnecessary damage to the natural habitat and uses natural and renewable materials.
The Bear Haus eco-frame is a natural evolution of our Timberslab. We are using the same techniques and materials but this time in the walls and roof of the building for well insulated, airtight yet breathable building structure.
The part of our approach we are proudest of is its fixed price per m2. As long as we can pile in your ground the price we quote at the outset of your build is the price you pay. This is unique in the foundation and home building business. We have all watched episodes of Grand Designs where the budget is immediately blown in the first weeks of the build. Our system avoids that.
